In the new Eve Dallas police thriller from #1 New York Times-bestselling author J. D. Robb, what looked like a lover’s quarrel turned fatal has larger—and more terrifying—motives behind it…
The scene in the West Village studio appears to be classic crime-of-passion: two wineglasses by the bed, music playing, and a young sculptor named Ariel Byrd with the back of her head bashed in. But when Dallas tracks down the wealthy Upper East Side woman who called 911, the details don’t add up. Gwen Huffman is wealthy, elegant, comforted by her handsome fiancé as she sheds tears over the trauma of finding the body—but why did it take an hour to report it? And why is she lying about little things?
As Eve and her team look into Gwen, her past, and the people around her, they find that the lies are about more than murder. As with sculpture, they need to chip away at the layers of deception to find the shape within—and soon they’re getting the FBI involved in a case that involves a sinister, fanatical group and a stunning criminal conspiracy.

Well, I have to say Faithless in Death was another great mystery in the In Death series!
Faithless in Death actually takes place not long after the events in Shadows In Death. Eve is finishing up the paperwork for the last case when a call comes in from dispatch. The body of up and coming young artist Ariel Byrd was found in West Village with her head bashed in. The strangest thing Eve soon discovers is the 911 caller who found the body, Gwen Huffman, didn’t report right away her discovery of the body and instead waited an hour. Gwen claims to have been in shock but her story doesn’t add up to Eve. Eve and Roarke soon discover that this may have to do with Gwen’s family who are members of a powerful and wealthy religious group better known as a cult. In fact, this cult has been in the eye of many groups like the FBI who have been able to take it down. It’s a good thing Eve and Roarke are on this case because they are determined to take down the cult especially when more plans and secrets about the cult are revealed
Overall, Faithless in Death was one of the intense novels in the In Death series! It is also another installment that shows the growth Eve has gone through. As seen in Faithless in Death, this case wouldn’t have been closed if it was just Eve and her team. No, Eve knew that she would have to get help from others like her contacts from the FBI and the Interpool so they could combine their forces. It was really exciting watch Eve set all this up once she discovered the cult’s plans and activities. Like I said this had everything! Faithless in Death was filled with action from beginning, middle and end.
