Sensitive Claire Connolly must journey to another world in the electrifying fourth installment of Chloe Neill’s post-apocalyptic urban fantasy series.
It’s been a year since the Veil between the human world and the world Beyond was torn apart, and war began again. Sensitive Claire Connolly and bounty hunter Liam Quinn have been helping their human and paranormal allies fight back against the ravaging invaders and save what’s left of New Orleans.
But a new enemy has arisen, more powerful than any they’ve seen before, and even Devil’s Isle cannot hold her. . .
When Claire learns of a new magical weapon—one built by paranormals themselves—she knows it could turn the tide of war. But to reach it, she and Liam will have to cross into the Beyond itself. In a world full of hostile magic and dangerous foes, she’ll have to channel the powers she once kept hidden in order to survive. New Orleans hangs in the balance, and the storm is growing closer…

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
The Beyond is finally here which means another well written series by Chloe Neill has ended.
However, fans will be pleased to know Chloe Neill wrote an excellent conclusion to the series!
The Beyond begins a year after the fall of the veil and the war’s destruction has increased over the year. In the midst of the war, Claire along with her group are few who stayed in the city to defend it from harm. The threat this time is a group of Seelies who have arrived to save one of their own imprisoned on Devil’s Island. The rescued Seelie only has one thing in her find now that she is free. Revenge for the actions committed to her sister who was also captured but died. It is not long before Claire and her friends hear news of a weapon that can strip the magic from magical beings. In prevent the weapon from being complete, Claire and her friends head towards the Beyond to the land of Elysium, to recover an important piece essential to the weapon. Easier said than done since Claire and her friends are heading towards no man’s land.
Overall, The Beyond was a well written finale to a series. It was thrilling and there was plenty of exciting action to read. We get to see how the characters have grown since their first appearance in The Veil along with their relationships with each other. An example would be Claire who used to be afraid of being a Sensitive snd using her magic. Now she’s confident and ready to use her magic when its necessary. I really enjoyed the fact that we finally got to know more about what’s beyond The Veil and about the Paranormals that came through the Veil. The way the installment ended, it’s not certain there will be more installment and if not, at least the series ended in a good place and everything was wrapped up nicely. Either way, it was good series and I look forward to what Chloe Neill has in store for the future.
