Review: Silver Silence

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh introduces a bold new chapter in her extraordinary paranormal romance saga with the Psy-Changeling Trinity series. Wild passion will encounter the darkest of betrayal…

Control. Precision. Family. These are the principles that drive Silver Mercant. At a time when the fledgling Trinity Accord seeks to unite a divided world, with Silver playing a crucial role as director of a worldwide emergency response network, wildness and chaos are the last things she needs in her life. But that’s exactly what Valentin Nikolaev, alpha of the StoneWater Bears, brings with him.

Valentin has never met a more fascinating woman. Though Silver is ruled by Silence—her mind clear of all emotion—Valentin senses a whisper of fire around her. That’s what keeps him climbing apartment buildings to be near her. But when a shadow assassin almost succeeds in poisoning Silver, the stakes become deadly serious…and Silver finds herself in the heart of a powerful bear clan.

Her would-be assassin has no idea what their poison has unleashed…

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

As you all know, Silver Silence is technically the 19th installment of the Psy-Changeling series. However, its actually the first installment of the Psy-Changeling Trinity series which is the second season of the Psy-Changeling series . Now the heroine of Silver Silence is Silver Mercant, personal aide to Kaleb Kyrchek who is the most powerful and deadly Psy in the world. Silver’s also now the director of EmNet which is a worldwide emergency response network. Overall, Silver has her hands full and is in no mood for disorder or confusion.

Too bad that Valentin Nikolaev, alpha of the StoneWater Bears, does not think the same. Since meeting Silver, Valentin has fallen for her and uses every opportunity to see, tease, and play with her. Silver is intrigued and bewildered by Valentin but doesn’t know why due to her being ruled by Silence. However, during one of their encounters at her home, Silver collapses and the cause is revealed to be that someone has poisoned her. What’s worse is that the only ones who come to see Silver are members if her family. So until the mystery is solved, Silver is forced to stay with Valentin in his clan’s territory for the time being.

Overall, Silver Silence was another great addition to the continuing series but also a great start to season two! It was great to finally have a book about Silver who has always been an interesting character since meeting her as Kaleb’s assistant in previous books. So the waiting for her to get a book was worth it. After all, who wouldn’t want tot know more about the right hand of the Kaleb Kyrchek. True enough, we get to meet a different Silver than the remote one we’ve met in as a secondary character. Speaking of secondary characters, we get to meet new ones who have not appeared in the series. Some seem interesting enough to have their own book. Cannot wait to see who Nalini Singh has chosen for the next installment!
