Review: White Hot

The Hidden Legacy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews continues as Nevada and Rogan navigate a world where magic is the norm…and their relationship burns hot

Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she’s used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family’s detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor “Mad” Rogan.

Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

After years of waiting, White Hot the long awaited second installment of the Hidden Legacy series by  Ilona Andrews is here!

White Hot picks up two months after the events of Burn for Me and Nevada’s life has been normal since then. Also, its been two months since she last saw Connor “Mad” Rogan. The installment starts out with Nevada meeting a new client who wants Nevada’s help in discovering who murdered his wife. The police authorities are unwilling to do anything about it because it involves the Houses and the client’s own House doesn’t want to get involved so the client is on his own. Nevada can’t bring it to herself to say no and decides to help him despite the dangers of getting involved in House politics. In fact, her first clue on the case leads to her running into Rogan who is also investigating the case. Sadly, Nevada’s first clue is killed which leads to Nevada and Rogan teaming up to discover who’s behind the murders.

Overall, White Hot was worth the wait! Nevada and Rogan once again had fantastic chemistry as a couple. Fans will see even more tension and the sparks between them just like in Burn for Me. Also, not only do we get to learn more about Rogan and why he is the way he is but we also get to learn more about Nevada’s family history and their own secrets. Yes, White Hot had everything! It had scenes that will make you laugh, scenes that will leave you at the edge of you’re seat, and romantic scenes that will leave you cheering! Now we just have to wait for Wildfire, book 3, which luckily will be released in just two months!

*I received White Hot from Edelweiss in return for an honest review.*
