Review: Into The Fire

In the explosive finale to New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series, Vlad is in danger of losing his bride to an enemy whose powers might prove greater than the Prince of Vampire’s….

In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.

For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad’s new bride against him.

A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them…and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

After much anticipation and delay, Into the Fire has finally been released!

Fans who have been following Vlad and Leila since the beginning of the Night Prince series will definitely enjoy this fourth and final installment of the series.

Into the Fire begins with Vlad and Leila trying to hunt down Mircea, a necromancer who has linked himself to Leila with a spell. So if Mircea get hurt so will Lelia and the same fate applies if Mircea dies. After another dead end in locating Mircea, Vlad and Leila discover that someone has captured Mircea in order to take advantage of the link and have Vlad do whatever the captor wants.  After all, its not news that Leila is now seen as Vlad’s weakness and Vlad will do anything in order to protect her.

Overall, Jeaniene Frost did another fantastic job in wrapping up another of her well written series. I’m really going to miss Vlad and Leila’s story just like when Cat and Bones’ own story ended. However, I’m sure we’ll see them again as side characters again in future books. Speaking of which, I’m already ready to get started on Ian’s story! We’ve all known for months that he was the next one on Jeaniene Frost’s list of characters who was going to get his own series and he deserves his own story after what he did in Into the Fire. Let’s hope Jeaniene Frost doesn’t make us wait too long for the first book. Though I have to say, I did expect a certain female to be chosen as Ian’s love interest. Then again, she’s perfect for Ian especially someone of his character. I won’t spoil who it is because you’ll find out once you read Into the Fire. I will say this, keep an eye out for future news about the Night Rebel series, the next series that will be a part of the Night Huntress world.
