The paranormal war that engulfed New Orleans seven years ago is over. But the battle for the city is just beginning . . .

Claire Connolly is a Sensitive, infected with magic when the Veil that divides humanity from the world beyond fell. Magic can easily consume and destroy a Sensitive, and if Claire’s secret is discovered she’ll be locked into the walled district of Devil’s Isle along with every other Paranormal left in the city.

Bounty hunter Liam Quinn discovered Claire’s secret, but refused to turn her in. Together they saved New Orleans from the resurgence of magic that nearly destroyed it. But now a dangerous cult is on the rise, and it will take both Claire and Liam—and magical allies within Devil’s Isle’s towering walls—to defeat the occult threat before magic corrupts them both…

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

If you enjoyed The Veil, book 1 of Devil’s Isle series, then you’ll be pleased to know that Chloe Neill did not disappoint with book 2, The Sight. Chloe Neill has proven once again that we should never ever doubt her ability to write a good story to read.

The Sight picks up not after the events in The Veil,  our main heroine Claire Connolly is peacefully running her store  while at the same time trying to learn to be a bounty hunter with the help of Liam Quinn and making sure to keep her status as a Sensitive a secret. If discovered, Claire would be taken into custody by the Containment group and be thrown into Devil’s Isle or worse killed. Sad to say that Claire once again is pulled into another situation that can send her right to Devil’s Isle. This time our heroes are forced to deal with Reveillon, a cult who claim to be the saviors of The Zone who will purge the area of all magic. In other words, not only will they target Paras (paranormals), but also anybody who has the gall to associate themselves with Paras. Now its up to Claire and her friends to find a way to stop Reveillon from rekindling the war between Paras and humans once again.

As I mentioned above, Chloe Neill definitely proved that she’s never going to disappoint her fans especially with this momentum she’s having as she writes. So overall, I enjoyed The Sight because from the start to finish there was plenty of non- stop action that I’m sure fans will enjoy. Although, I should warn you fans that The Sight ends in a cliffhanger that will leave you longing for book 3 which sadly we won’t get until next year again.

So be warned and enjoy The Sight!
