Keep your friends close but your enemies within stabbing distance.

One important lesson I’ve learned in the assassination business is that to be the best you have to roll with the punches. Now that I’m queen of Ashland’s underworld—by default, not by choice—a lot more punches are being thrown my way. But I suppose that’s the price of victory for taking down some of the underworld’s top dogs. Good thing I have my Ice and Stone magic to help me survive my volatile new position. Just when I think things are finally settling down, someone tries to murder me during a hush-hush underworld meeting. But the real surprise is how strangely familiar my shadowy assailant seems to be.

My job is to maintain order among killers, crooks, and thieves, and soon I’m embroiled in a bloody game where the ability to keep secrets could be the greatest superpower of all. My enemies have all sharpened their knives and laid their traps, waiting for me to fall. But this Spider weaves her own webs of death…

Coming Soon December 2015! The Next Broken Destiny Novel!

For those of you who can’t wait for the second novel of the Broken Destiny series, never fear! Our favorite author, Jeaniene Frost, has given us a name and blurb! As for the release date, all we know is that it’ll be released in December 2015.

Now here it is! The blurb of The Sweetest Burn.

The breathtaking second novel in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Broken Destiny series finds Ivy and Adrian rekindling their alliance – and passion – as the struggle for the fate of the world begins . . .

Conquering a supernatural realm turned out to be easier than getting over a broken heart. But her initial victory has made Ivy a target for revenge, forcing her to reunite with the dangerous – and dangerously sexy – Adrian. Ivy isn’t sure which will be harder: finding the hallowed weapon that will repair the crumbling walls between demon and human realms, or resisting Adrian, who’s decided that come hell or high water, he will make Ivy his.

At first, Adrian tried to resist his feelings for Ivy. Now, determined to break the curse that dooms their love, he’s vowed to save her and to have her. If only he can persuade her to forgive his past sins. But defying destiny—and surrendering to the smoldering desire between them —will bring consequences and sacrifices they never imagined . . .

In the latest Kate Daniels novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews, magic is coming and going in waves in post-Shift Atlanta—and each crest leaves danger in its wake…

After breaking from life with the Pack, mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate—former Beast Lord Curran Lennart—are adjusting to a very different pace. While they’re thrilled to escape all the infighting, Kate and Curran know that separating from the Pack completely is a process that will take time.

But when they learn that their friend Eduardo has gone missing, Kate and Curran shift their focus to investigate his disappearance. Eduardo was a fellow member of the Mercenary Guild, so Kate knows the best place to start looking is his most recent jobs. As Kate and Curran dig further into the merc’s business, they discover that the Guild has gone to hell and that Eduardo’s assignments are connected in the most sinister way…

An ancient enemy has arisen, and Kate and Curran are the only ones who can stop it—before it takes their city apart piece by piece.

Coming Soon In September 2015! The Next Fire Born Novel!

perf5.250x8.000.indd

Here’s the next book of the Fire Born series that will be released in September 2015.

True….Now that’s an interesting title.

Boy,  September’s going to be quite a month of book releases.

Now for the blurb:

Nothing in Layla and Max’s world will ever be the same.

Since Max left, and joined his father in the Shadow Realm, everything in Layla’s life has changed. The Demon Gods threaten to destroy the Otherworld, and an inconceivable darkness has awakened—a darkness that wants control of Layla’s will. It also wants Max … dead. Not only must Layla face the true fire simmering inside her, but fight the one she loves most.
And this time, with her friends and family left behind, she’s completely on her own.

Leaving Layla nearly destroyed Max, but it was his only choice. Now, he must play the part—stay in control of his end goal, his actions, and the poison coursing through his veins, clouding his thoughts, and turning him into what he fears most, a Demon God. But even with his Oghams fighting the toxins, his control is slipping. Living in the Fomore castle with his Vampyre Fae ex-girlfriend isn’t making it any easier to stay sane, and waiting to face off against Layla is taking its toll.

In the final installment of the Fire Born Novels trilogy, the legendary Battle will be fought, and Layla and Max stand to lose everything. How far will they go to save each other and protect the ones they love? Even they don’t know the answer.
No one can win.

From the ashes of old,
They shall rise.
The last of the Ancients,
Foe and Ally.
The Legend lies in wait,
And bides its time.
Until at last the day comes,
For the children born of fire.

I’m curious to see how the author, Laney McMann, will wrap the series up because from the looks of it, the series can end in a happy note or it’ll turn out to be a tragedy.

Review: Torn+Blurb

Find Max.

That’s all Layla cares about. Not healing from the Fomore attack. Not finding answers to how she survived a fall that nearly killed her. Nothing will stop her. She will find him. She’ll even pair up with an overbearing Fallen Angel who’s hell bent on making everything harder than it needs to be if she has to.

Protect Layla.

For Max, nothing else matters. Not the bruises covering his body. Not the pain radiating from his broken bones. Not even his hands tied behind his back. He will find a way to save Layla, and the Fomore will pay if they’ve hurt her.

Every. Single. One of them.

In the second installment of The Fire Born trilogy, a new breed of villain looms—one Layla and Max will never suspect, and this killer has nothing to lose. Better yet, with Max and Layla’s deaths, victory is in the grip of the enemy.

Will Max and Layla find each other in time, or is it already too late for them both?

Well? What do you think? Doesn’t it look like a good series to read?

Then look no farther and go read Laney McMann’s Fire Born series!

The Fire Born series is a trilogy that already has two books out.

The latest novel would be Torn which is book 2 of the Fire Born series.

Before you read  Torn though, I recommend you read the first book Tied because otherwise you won’t have any idea of what’s going on.

So if you haven’t read Tied I recommend you to get it and start reading it.

Torn picks up right where Tied left off a which was a jaw dropping moment that left me dying to get my hands on Torn. This latest book was an excellent continuation of the Fire Born series and it’s exactly like the blurb says with Layla searching for Max. There were things in Tied that left me confused and wanting answers but luckily in Torn, I was able to get some answers and boy, they weren’t what I was expecting. Especially some answers that have to do with our two main characters, Layla and Max.

I don’t want to give much away because it’ll spoil the fun of reading Torn but will I leave you with this spoil that Torn ends in another cliffhanger that’s worse than the cliffhanger in Tied. So if you’re willing to wait for book 3 or don’t care about cliffhangers then go ahead and read it.  I ‘ll be reading some other book to get my mind of the waiting.

* I received Torn from NetGalley in return for an honest review.*

C.C. Hunter’s Miranda Novella: Spellbinder. Coming Soon In June 2015!

This is to fans of the Shadow Falls and Shadow Falls: After Dark series.

As you all know, C.C. Hunter decided to write a novella on Miranda and I’m sure you all have been dying to know when it’s going to be released.

Well, here it is: a cover, blurb, and best of all a release date!

Spellbinder_revised3

When magic, romance and family secrets collide, the result is spellbinding!

Miranda Kane has always felt like a screw up–at least when it comes to her ability to wield magic.  Her only sanctuary is Shadow Falls camp, where she’s learning to harness her powers as a witch.  But thanks to her shapeshifter boyfriend who called it quits and ran off to Paris, both her heart and powers feel broken.

When she unexpectedly lands a top spot in a spell casting competition in France, she flies out with her best friends Kylie and Della.  But her trip takes her straight into the heart of a dangerous supernatural mystery–and a heated romance.  What Miranda doesn’t expect is for her investigation to unleash shocking revelations…about herself, her family, and her arch enemy.  Now Miranda must step up and show everyone that she’s a witch to be reckoned with….before it’s too late.

There you have it, Spellbinder will be released June 30, 2015 so it’s not that far from release. Been looking forward to a Miranda’s book ever since C.C. Hunter decided to do Della’s story in the Shadow Falls: After Dark series.

Here’s hoping Miranda will get her own series too!

Coming Soon In January 2016! The Next Charley Davidson Novel!

Ok I know it’s a bit early to post this since Eighth Grave After Dark is still a month and a half away from being released but I just had to share this with the fans of the Charley Davidson series.

Book 9 of the Charley Davidson series has a name, blurb, and a release date!

On January 5, 2016, The Dirt On Nineth Grave will be released!

Here’s the blurb for the novel:

In a small village in New York lives Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she’s more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.

But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her-even from her new and trusted friends-the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead. Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn’t help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she’s lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way.

Anyone else confused about this?

I sure was but after rereading it about a hundred times parts started to form a theory but I gotta wait for Eighth Grave After Dark  to see if it comes true.

If what I’m thinking is true then Darynda Jones has come up with an awesome storyline. Yet, if it’s true then I’m not sure I want to read Eighth Grave After Dark until The Dirt On Nineth Grave is released.

P.S

I’ll post up with the cover once it’s released.
